Book types

Six kinds of book, each built its own way.

A lead magnet isn’t a short novel. Pick the type, or let BookArc pick it from your sentence, and the plan, the writing and the cover all follow it.

  • Fiction and non-fiction
  • 3 to 30 chapters
  • Change it on the plan

The six types

From a giveaway guide to a full novel.

Every number here is the app’s own: the range it plans within and the length it starts at.

Length

Sized for the job it does.

Each type starts at the short end of its real-world range. Want more? Raise the chapters or the words per chapter on the plan.

  • A lead magnet is read in one sitting; a novel takes an evening or several.
  • Set any chapter from 300 to 2,000 words.
  • The price follows the length, and the plan shows the total before a word is written.

On the plan screen

BookArc picks the type. You have the last word.

It reads your sentence, works out what kind of book it is and says why. Disagree? Pick another.

  • Changing it is free until you plan the chapters.
  • Switching sets the chapter count to that type’s default.
  • The language, genre and reader sit beside it, all yours to change.

What the type changes

Not just a label. A different book.

The type is handed to the AI at every step, from the plan to the cover.

  • The plan

A novel is planned as a story with a turning point, a report as findings, a course as modules with one objective each, a workbook as exercises.

  • The writing

A lead magnet ends each chapter with one thing to do today. A workbook has the reader write something down. A report keeps every figure straight.

  • What carries forward

Between chapters, a novel remembers its characters and plot, a report its figures and sources, a guide the steps already taught.

  • The cover

A giveaway guide looks clean and useful, a report sober, a workbook warm and inviting, a novel atmospheric.

Questions about book types

Which type should I pick?

The one that matches what the reader will do with it. Give it away for an email address: a lead magnet. Teach a skill step by step: a how-to guide. Teach in modules with an objective each: an online course. Tell a story: a novel. Present findings: a research report. Have the reader write in it: a workbook. If you’re not sure, describe the book and BookArc suggests one, with its reason.

Can I change the type after BookArc picks it?

Yes. It sits on the plan screen next to the title, and changing it there costs nothing. Change it before you plan the chapters, because the type decides how they’re planned. Switching sets the chapter count to that type’s default.

Can I make the book longer or shorter?

Yes. Each type starts at the short end of its range. On the plan screen, change the number of chapters within the type’s range, and set any chapter from 300 to 2,000 words. The price follows the length, and the total is shown before anything is written.

Is a novel as good as a guide?

Expect more work on a novel. A guide is mostly structure and information, which the AI does well, so the draft is close after your edit. A novel lives on voice, so treat the draft as a strong starting point and plan to rewrite in your own voice.

What does each type cost?

It depends on the length. At their default lengths, from 12 credits for a Lead Magnet to 54 for a Fiction Novel, which covers the plan, every chapter and one cover. You start with 30 credits free.

What about coloring books?

Those are their own kind of book, made of pictures rather than chapters. Pick Coloring book on the first screen; the coloring book page shows how it works.

What kind of book is yours?

Describe it in one sentence and BookArc suggests the type, then plans it for you to change. 30 credits free, no card.
